After getting the keys a week earlier, the 10th May saw our first worship service in our new building!
After many months of praying, planning, waiting, and working, Sunday marked a special moment for us as we gathered for our first Sunday worship services in our new building at 48 High Street.
There was something deeply encouraging about seeing the building filled with people, light, warmth, conversation, singing, and the sound of God’s Word being opened together. While there is still plenty of work ahead as we continue restoring and improving the building, it already felt like a home for the church family and a welcoming place for the community.
We began this new chapter looking at Luke 4:14-30, where Jesus declares His mission to proclaim good news. It was a timely reminder that although we are incredibly thankful for this building, bricks and mortar are not the heart of the church. The church is the people of God, gathered around the gospel of Jesus Christ and sent out with His good news.
There were emotional moments throughout the day, particularly as we stood and sang together in a building once again being used for the worship of God. Many reflected on the Lord’s kindness and faithfulness over the years that have brought us to this point.
We are hugely thankful for everyone who has prayed, supported, helped, encouraged, and served along the way. Most of all, we thank God for His provision.
Please continue to pray for us as we seek to be a church rooted in Jesus and reaching the Borders with the hope of the gospel.
Join us at 10am every Sunday morning and 5pm for Evening Fellowship (during school term time).
